FLOCK:
Our favourite, a raised velvety finish, vey luxurious, and a great alternative to embroidery.
The process for flock is the same as vinyl, a speciality film is fed into a plotter/cutter which cuts the design. The unwanted parts are then weeded out by hand and the remaining design is heat pressed onto the garment.
CONS
Too expensive for orders over 50
and no significant “bulk discounts”
Unable to reproduce intricate or very small designs
No gradients
Multi coloured designs are possible but expensive
Limited choice of colours
PROS
Perfect for one-off’s or short runs up to 50
Cheaper than embroidery, especially for larger back prints
No set-up fee or colour change fee
Very durable, colours do not fade,
Print does not crack
Feels and looks great on polos, sweats and hoodies
